UNN-IAESTE Collaboration

University of Nigeria Nsukka, and IAESTE Agree to Explore Collaboration on Research Students Exchange UNN and the International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience (IAESTE) have decided to explore collaboration towards enhancing the technical and professional development of the University’s students. The International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience (IAESTE) is an international research and cultural exchange organization with partner agencies in 90 countries in the world. One of the aims of the organization is to provide students in higher education who are undergraduates or fresh postgraduates with paid industrial and technical training experience in a university or a company abroad for a period of between 2 to 12 months. Each year “work offer” (i.e. research/training positions) are exchanged with member-countries and co-operating institutions via an international exchange conference mainly on a reciprocal basis. For the 2020 IAESTE exchange cycle, all prospective students on compulsory industrial training (i.e. 300 and 400 level) should proceed and register on the IAESTE portal, iaeste.net or contact nigeria@iaeste.org in order to benefit from the exchange programme. The IAESTE Student Registration is meant to guide prospective students with necessary information about IAESTE application. You can download the application form here. You can also reach the IAESTE UNN Coordinator and Desk Officer, Dr Lum Perpetua Tanyi, Department of Social Work, University of Nigeria. Email lum.tanyi@unn.edu.ng or iaeste@unn.edu.ng

The discussion is expected to last for an hour. The Green Hangout is a platform where Students, Staff and other stakeholders who are environmentally conscious come together and share wonderful ideas on how best to handle most of the environmental challenges in the University community, though not in a formal way but in a relaxed and fun way which will be reported back to the University Administration, relevant authorities and stakeholders to effect the needed change. Green Hangout started in Abuja, and then spread to other states like Kaduna, Lagos, Enugu and Oyo but to mention a few, the feedbacks have always been sent back to Ministry of Environment for action sought. University of Nigeria Nsukka will be the first higher institution in Nigeria to host the Green Hangout After a successful Campus Clean Up that held on the 8th of February, 2020 it is imperative that the conversation must continue in finding lasting solution to the environmental challenges in the university community YOU DON’T WANT TO MISS IT.
